Jan has been involved in the Textiles business for many years. Well known in the UK for knitwear design, she took a sideways step on discovering the wonders of overlockers! She has lectured throughout the UK and Europe, and has produced numerous books and videos.. |

Jan’s job with Babylock UK has been the culmination of a love affair which began when she was called upon to launch the Evolve in 1998. This was a machine which really caught her imagination! The possibilities of an overlocker which practically threaded itself, and had automatic tensions, were all too obvious to someone who had spent hours teaching overlocking skills! All too often, Jan had discovered sad, neglected overlockers gathering dust in the backs of wardrobes. She had watched students struggle to master tension control with difficult fabrics. The Evolve gave her the freedom to sew her knitted fabrics with ease.
Her job involves travelling extensively around the UK, training the dealers to use the Babylock machines. She supports the dealers at shows and exhibitions during the year, and organises and teaches workshops in conjunction with the UK sewing machine shops.
Out of season, she can be found at her Norfolk home involved in research and development of new ideas and projects. |
